Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), the United States reported September retail sales total of 147,162 units, up to 16.8 percent compared to the same month period last year. Of these, the Toyota division contributes to 132,214 units, up to 20.5 percent from a year ago. While the Lexus division reported sales of 16,948 units, declined 5.5 percent from September 2009.
For Toyota alone, passenger vehicle reach the top with 75,670 units (up 8.5 percent from 2009), with the stars are Camry and Camry Hybrid. Both models sold for 30,769 units (up to 19.5 percent), followed by the Corolla (21,060 units), with 11,394 units of the Prius hybrid, Yaris (2835 units) and Avalon 2504 units.
The rest is divided by the division pickup vehicles (light truck) up to 54,544 units, consisting of the RAV4, 4Runner, Tacoma and Sienna minivan. While the Lexus division, from 16,948, the highest category of passenger cars by 8135 units, though down 8.9 percent from September 2009. The highest ES luxury sedan with the 3697 unit, following the IS type for 2447 unit.
For pickup category, the total contribution to 8813 sales units, also down to 2.2 percent. RX350 and RX450h models at most more than 70 percent. Carved out a pretty good achievement hybrid vehicles, recorded to 14,871 units, up 2 percent.
